Mohamad Faizul is Associate Professor of Textile Technology at the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Shah Alam, Selangor. He is also a Director of the University Transformation Division (BTU), a strategic unit that focuses on planning and executing university strategic decisions and transformation initiatives. He is also an Ex-Officio Member of Malaysia Textile Apparel Centre (MATAC) and Chairman of the National Standard Working Committee on Woven Fabrics. 

His interests are predominantly in woven fabrics and computer-aided simulation models with multitudes of material engineering and failure properties for tensile and impact numerical analysis.  He published 56 scientific papers in high-impact journals, books, magazines, and conference proceedings. He won 13 innovation awards held at both national and international levels. To date, he was involved with eight consultancies and was at six (6) conferences as an invited speaker.  He was awarded four (4) University Excellence Awards in 2021, 2014, 2007, and 2005, awarded Cum Laude and Outstanding Upperclassmen in Textile Technology (1997) by Philadelphia University, Pennsylvania, USA, Recipient Academic Excellence Awards for Malaysia Students in the USA (1997), and Quality Reduction Awards (1999) by Ara Borgstena Sdn. Bhd
